Monkfish has a firm, dense texture and a slightly sweet taste and is sometimes called “poor man's lobster” due to its similar taste & texture. This fabulous fish can be used in many ways, from fine dining dishes to easy and speedy mid-week meals. The lightness of monkfish also means it pairs well with other flavours and meats, such as bacon which adds a natural saltiness. Tomato is a great accompaniment, particularly in a flavoursome sauce made with ginger and garlic. Alternatively, fry in garlic butter for a speedy but impressive supper.
