Battered Cod


Battered fish is the ultimate British food, particularly when served with chips and mushy peas. To make at home, just pop one of these fillets in the oven for an easy supper that is both tasty and nutritious. It is thought the first battered fish came from the East End of London in the late 1800s when Joseph Malin, an Ashkenazi Jewish immigrant, needed a batter to protect the fish he was selling in his shop from spoiling.
